Today we’re getting into some of the more fashion forward (and on-trend) colors that Emani offers. As soon as I heard that the color of the year for 2013 was emerald I headed out in search of some new colors to add to my collection – and this was actually the first color to catch my eye! I had already had a chance to play around with another color from Emani’s line – but is the quality consistent? Let’s head into the review and find out (and if you haven’t checked out my previous review of “Cran-Me-In” – you can find that here)!

Emani Cosmetics “Bamboo” Mineral Pigment
- 100% mineral pigment – free of talc and fillers!
- Can be used dry for a wash of color, or wet for a more intense finish…
- Fantastic staying power – but needs to be used wet for the color to apply opaquely.
Final verdict – 4.5/5!
I’m gonna be honest and say I wasn’t as impressed with “Bamboo” as I was with “Cran-Me-In” – if it’s not used wet the opacity just isn’t there! To be fair, when it is used wet it gives a brilliant, eye-catching finish…but I can’t help but feel as though if a makeup newbie were to pick this color up – that they’d be extremely disappointed. Regardless, now that you know that this color is only good used wet – considering the price point and trend factor I’d say it’s still a winning combination, no?

I have green eyes – do you think I can pull of the emerald anyway?
My eyes are green too – I’d just go with a brighter green (like this one)! The yellow/gold greens don’t look good on me – but this pigment sat super well – I liked it! It was my first time ever wearing green makeup in this picture, ahaha!
Cool:) Thanks!
I love this emerald shade. It sucks that the color isn’t true to pan, but I’m glad you can build up the intensity by applying it wet. P.S. Your eyes are beautiful! :)
Thanks so much Carina! Your blog is super cute – I love the layout and direction you’ve taken it in (and thanks for swatching a bunch of brands I haven’t checked out yet).
Yay, I’m glad! I like finding new things to try (and want haha), too.
That’s a nice shade of green, Jake, and yes — your eyes *are* beautiful! :)
Oh, another compliment – you guys are too friggin’ cute! It’s a super nice shade of green – I highly recommend checking out these pigments…for the price point, you can’t go wrong!
Aww I love these colours on you! Now I know what you mean about the colour of the year! It’s amazing! I only came about this brand Emani while browsing online, and I think I’m going to grab myself one of their collection! :-)
P.S. (the header really suits your theme, so glad it turned out that way! :-) )
