September’s almost here and sadly for me that means my caramel colored primer has no place in the world until next summer. This means I needed to grab a new primer; but honestly – I’ve been through so many and haven’t quite been able to find one that’s perfect for my oily skin. Thankfully for me one of the sales associates at Sephora told me to give one of Urban Decay’s new(er) complexion primers a whirl…we’re all well aware that Urban Decay has been one of the big authorities in color cosmetics (specifically color cosmetics for the eyes), but with the release of their new Naked Skin foundation and these complexion primers I truly feel like Urban Decay is going to thrust themselves into the one stop shop spotlight; let me tell you why…

Urban Decay “Pore Perfecting” Primer
- Lightweight, non-greasy primer that helps oily skin keep makeup in place all day.
- Completely resurfaces the skin and hides the appearance of fines lines and enlarged pores.
- Creates a velvety canvas that really attributes to an airbrushed foundation look.
Final verdict – 5/5!
So I’ve made my way through a handful of different primers – all boasting fantastic reviews, but none were really able to keep my face shine-free for longer than an hour! Enter Urban Decay’s “pore perfecting” primer…a lightweight, creamy primer that completely resurfaces the skin and keeps my face shine free all day! I work under photography lights all day and before I worked this primer into my makeup routine I found myself having to touch up my makeup every 2 hours…now I don’t even have to sweat it! I don’t notice shine coming through until maybe 6 hours into my shift…that’s insane! Anybody with oily skin will really appreciate this product, but for someone with drier skin who’s looking for a matte finish this product will provide the same benefit…you have to check it out!

I am so excited about the Urban Decay – Vegan Palette I ordered off Hautelook for like half the price! It comes with an eyeshadow primer. This also looks exciting, but I just tried Vapour Organic Beauty and am currently sold, although I really DO love all that Urban Decay offers!! I like Smashbox, as well. All my engagement/wedding/reception makeup was done by Smashbox. Who am I kidding? I love all makeup!!!!
Vapour? I’ve never heard of them…I’m going to check them out right now! I’m not a huge fan of Smashbox products, I really like their tinted moisturizer/BB cream and that’s kinda it. I’m big into Urban Decay and Make Up Forever though. :3
I had never heard of Vapour either, but their foundation is AH-MAZING. I just reviewed it the other day! I am no longer going to use anything else!! Urban Decay is pretty much THE best, especially in eyeshadows. I can’t wait to get my pallette!! :)

I tried the Urban Decay De-Slick oil control spray and I was bitterly dissapointed… I might give this primer a try though:)
Really? I find that so strange! I just picked up my 3rd bottle today – I love the stuff! The ingredients in the spray help to keep the surface of the skin cool so your makeup doesn’t run – but when it’s applied under AND over your foundation it really helps to diffuse the colors on your face and almost looks airbrushed! With this primer it’s on the heavier side – it’s almost like foundation glue (it’s non-comedogenic, don’t worry) so it totally smooths everything out and provides a long-lasting application. ;)
Oh yeah, I had a horrible time with it! I used it faithfully for about two weeks, under and over my foundation, and I had a terrible time with it. It actually seemed to make my skin oilier! i was really disapointed.
That’s terrible – maybe they changed the formula? I hate it when something works super well for me and someone else has issues with it. :(

Well, we just have different skin:) Something that works well for you might not agree with my chemistry and vice versa. I do like Urban Decay; I have the Naked 2 palette and I adore it!!
I still haven’t invested in one of the Naked palettes – there’s something wrong with me, I think…

I finally got to pick this up last night and can’t wait to try it today…Question for you though, what skincare line do you use? I have extremely oily skin and have been struggling to find something (specifically moisturizer) that won’t make me shine bright like a diamond after an hour. I’m giving Dermalogica a shot soon. I like their Dermal Clay Cleanser so far, but can’t find the right moisturizer. I just bought their OILY kit so hopefully that works out.
Murad’s Skin Perfecting lotion is a favorite of mine – but I always switch it up! Unfortunately you can’t fight your skin type – if you’re an oilier skin type you can balance the PH of your skin to help calm oil production (this is the cleansing process) but your moisturizer is honestly just the icing on the cake, y’know? For my cleansing/treatment products I use almost all http://www.carylbakervisage.com/ skin care (citrus gel/citrus toner in the winter and deglazing cleanser/deglazing toner in the summer) – also think about incorporating products into your routine that contain retinol or vitamin C as those two ingredients really work to fix a myriad of skin condition – including an overproduction of oil.
