Product review | Afterglow Cosmetics “Tickle” blush and “Meringue” eye treatment swatches and first impressions.

You’ve probably already noticed this…but I’m a huge fan of mineral makeup. I think I’ve said this before but I have a “thing” for trying out all different kinds of products and seeing how they stack up in the market (the mineral makeup market is huge)…and I like to think I have a pretty good eye for quality. That doesn’t change today, and we’re going to be talking about Afterglow Cosmetics and two of their products I’ve fallen absolutely in love with (one being a product I use almost every day)! I guess we’ll get right into the swatches and reviews then, huh?

“Tickle” organic mineral blush

  • Grape seed extract and pomegranate seed promote the synthesis of collagen and provide antioxidant protection.
  • Blends into the skin effortlessly but the color is completely buildable!
  • The perfect everyday color for fair to medium skin tones.
  • 100% natural ingredients with no parabens, nanos, bismuth, oxychloride, gluten or talc!
  • 23$ for 21oz of product!

This has quickly become one of my favorite cheek colors for everyday use! It’s the perfect flush of natural looking color for my skin tone, and easily adds a touch of warmth to any look I create. It’s definitely not a glamour or fashion blush by any means, but it’s the perfect go-to color if you like the look of naturally flawless skin! I recommend applying it over a cream blush (I use this one) or primer to get better staying power from the color, as it tends to blend into the skin a bit quicker than regular powder blush…but that’s just a small sacrifice to make to wear makeup that doesn’t feel like makeup, right?

Final verdict – 5/5!

“Meringue” organic triple eye treatment

  • Coconut oil and cocoa butter help to hydrate the delicate eye area.
  • Marshmallow extract helpts to increase circulation and reduce puffiness.
  • White tea extract helps to provide antioxidant protection.
  • Light, hydrating coverage for minimal darkness.
  • 100% natural ingredients with no parabens, nanos, bismuth, oxychloride, gluten or talc!
  • 29$ for 17oz of product!

I don’t really have darkness under my eyes (luckily), and I don’t love wearing a heavier concealer so I figured this product would be perfect for me! You might be able to tell from the picture, but it’s very light and has some amazing light reflecting properties to it…this makes it great for someone with minimal darkness who’s looking for a product that’s going to treat the eye area, but also work to conceal at the same time! On Afterglow’s website it says that the product is a full coverage concealer, but I don’t think I’d be able to use it that way…I feel like it would cake and crease far too easily, and definitely wouldn’t recommend it for that purpose. If you’re like me though with minimal darkness, and looking for a great multi-use product then this would definitely work for you!

Final verdict – 4/5!

  1. First and foremost…its awesome that the product is organic! :) and secondly,it looks really amazing. Out of curiousity, where can i get this brand? thanks for sharing.. :)

    • You can purchase them on Afterglow’s site…I don’t think they have any physical locations yet to be honest, but from what I’ve seen of them they’re absolutely fantastic! I haven’t found a FUNCTIONING organic cosmetics line yet, and this fits the bill perfectly. ;)

  2. This month’s issue of Good Housekeeping has an incredibly interesting article on the various natural, organic and “regular” beauty products, and they go into great detail about what really gets regulated, why the FDA doesn’t really get involved, and what qualifies product as natural or organic. Obviously I think you should check it out because they cover phthalates, parabens…. everything people should, at the very least, be aware of what they’re putting on their face. They also provide their Good Housekeeping stamp of approval for various beauty products AND a second runner-up… And I know for a fact the products were very foreign to me; I’d never heard of the brands.

Anyway. I LOVE the tickle blush… The color is so pretty! I’m going to have to use some of these products as rewards to myself for hitting certain weight loss goals because otherwise I’m going to end up with a makeup collection large enough to stock an entire makeup aisle at CVS. This is a dangerous line to be walking. :)

    • Ahaha, I totally get it! I can tell you some of the things you absolutely MUST purchase, and we’ll feed off of each other. The tickle blush for me is an absolute MUST have though…I’ve literally been using it almost EVERY day. It’s versatile, gorgeous and just gives me a beautiful glow…and because of what’s NOT in it, I can rest my pretty little head. ;)
